The Catholic Church of Saint Gabriel will kick off the upcoming fall football season with an all-day, fund-raising barbecue (rain or shine) Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m., on the church grounds on Antioch Road off Ga. Hwy. 92 South.
Barbecue plates, including pork sandwiches, baked beans, corn and bread, will cost $7. Hot dog plates will cost $5. Drinks and desserts will be available but are not included in the cost. Plates will be available for both eat-in and take-out.
In addition to the barbecue, the event will offer games and prizes, such as throwing a football through a tire from varying distances.
