Election time is nearing and qualifying is just around the corner. In Palmetto, three seats on the city council will be on the Nov. 8 ballot.

Qualifying for the seats of Bill Burnham, John Farr and James Harper will be Sept. 12 through Sept. 14 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 509 Toombs Street. All council seats are at-large positions.

Announcing the qualifying period and election date, Mayor Clark Boddie said Aug. 1 that the qualifying fee for council seats is $30. The Nov. 8 polling place will be in the council chambers at city hall, he said.

October 11 will be the final day for voter registration.
