DivorceCare, a free, 15-week, nondenominational study which features Biblical teachings for those recovering from divorce and separation, will begin Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in room F-14 at Providence United Methodist Church. Persons who are separated, going through a divorce or recently divorced are encouraged to attend. Sessions are conducted through use of a workbook, video and discussion and are open to both members and non-members. Free child care is available with a reservation. Cokes Chapel seniors plan two trips

Senior adults at Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church have planned two church-sponsored trips for July and August. On Thursday, July 28, the group will travel to Perry to tour the Lane Peach Packing Company and have lunch afterward at the Peaches Cafe. The group will leave the church at 8 a.m. On Aug. 18, the group will travel to Atlanta for a visit to Fernbank. Sign up sheets for both outings are available in the church narthex. Local amateur musicians are invited to join Jonesboro First Baptist Church's "Blow Your Own Horn" church-wide orchestra. The group's performance is scheduled for Sunday evening, July 24, with rehearsals on July 23 and 24. The music will be appropriate for all levels of musicianship and for all ages of musicians from school-age up. A rehearsal and breakfast will be held Saturday, July 23, from 9 a.m. until noon in the church's worship center.
