Piedmont babies invited to zoo party

Piedmont Hospital turns 100 this year, and the hospital is rounding up all Piedmont babies for a special birthday celebration.

Anyone born at Piedmont Hospital is invited to a birthday bash at Zoo Atlanta Sunday, May 15, from 1 to 5 p.m.Whether you're 100 years old like the hospital, or a tiny tot, come party with pandas, peacocks and Piedy Bear, the hospital's mascot. This special celebration also will feature animals, face painting, clowns, ice cream and cake, entertainment and door prizes.

Founded in 1905 as a 10-bed sanatorium, Piedmont Hospital is celebrating a century of service to the Atlanta community. The baby reunion is one of several activities included in the year-long centennial anniversary festivities.A nursing school reunion, time capsule ceremony, Piedmont Park Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert and a Chastain benefit concert also are scheduled for later this year.

The baby reunion is free for Piedmont babies. To register, call 404-605-2740 or visit www.piedmonthospital.org. Family members and other guests can purchase tickets at Zoo Atlanta. The event is limited to the first 3,000 registrations.
