In the second game, the War Eagles scored early again, driving in three in the top of the first. The Trojans answered with five runs of their own in the bottom of the inning but Tidwell hit a triple that drove in two runs in the top of the second to tie the game. Landmark scored two runs in the fourth inning before getting two outs they would add four more before the inning was over and would not relinquish the lead for the rest of the day. Gordon Lee made it close but Tidwell shut them down late in the game with a tremendous pitching performance.

They had a 16-0 win streak this year with five shutouts in that span. They have also scored 10 runs or more 15 times this season.

Rick Williams and Ri'Chard Davis hit home runs in the first game, which saw Brent Moss and Joey Arnold pitch very well. In the second game, Austin Wilkes pitched all seven innings, while Williams hit another home run and Moss and Davis both had solid days at the plate.

Their opponent in the quarterfinals is the Lassiter Trojans (23-7). The Trojans had a 13 game win streak this season and have gone 4-1 in the playoffs this year. Last week they defeated Centennial 6-2 and 18-7 in two games. They have held their opponents to three runs or fewer 15 times this year and have scored nine or more runs 11 times.

Starr's Mill advanced to a revenge match with Parkview in the Class AAAAA quarterfinals by defeating Glynn Academy 1-0 and 17-0. Joey Lewis hit a solo home run in the first game for the Panthers only run. In the second game, Lewis hit another home run, this time a two run blast, and then the Panthers batted around twice in the third inning as they scored 15 runs. Nick Terry pitched a complete game in the first game and Andrew Robinson pitched the three innings of the mercy rule shortened second game.

Parkview (25-5) has won 18 games in a row, allowing three runs or fewer 12 times in that span and scoring over 10 runs 10 times. Two of their five losses this year came to teams from Florida. Their last loss was April 2.

The Starr's Mill Panthers and the Parkview Panthers were tied 1-1 in the seventh inning of their first game Monday when Starr's Mill pitcher Nick Terry gave up the second home run of the game, this one a walk-off, game-winner. Parkview won the second game 11-3, jumping on Starr's Mill with three runs in the first and three more in the third and allowing only one Starr's Mill run after the second inning.

This is the second year in a row that Parkview has eliminated Starr's Mill from the Class AAAAA playoffs in the quarterfinals. Starr's Mill finishes the season with a record of 24-6.
