A Peachtree City woman, eager to get her hands on the winning lottery ticket, instead claimed a cell at the Fayette County Jail Wednesday.
Barbara Leone, 57, of 410 Raintree Bend, was booked into the jail on a charge of theft by taking for violating her fiduciary duties while she worked as a customer service employee at K-Mart on Crosstown Drive.
According to Peachtree City police reports, Leone allegedly swiped $420 in lottery tickets. A security employee and another employee allegedly tipped off their employers and told them about the alleged scheme. A warrant later was issued for her arrest.
Leone was released the same day after she posted a $5,600 bond, jail officials say.
