This year, not only did students participate in the fair, but they also helped parents prepare for it. Each grade was assigned a continent and each class within a grade level chose a country to research. Students not only learned about the geography of the country but also its customs and cultures.
As with previous fairs, parents poured a lot of creativity into planning activities that would enhance the learning process such as creating a tree for South America that was too large to go into a van and building a working gondola for Italy.
"The parents do a wonderful job of producing the academic fair. The students look forward to them each year," said Assistant Principal Mary Margaret Bivings.
