Dear Father Paul: I see in the AJC where some local (Atlanta) Muslim clerics have spoken out against U.S. troops entering mosques in Iraq to search for weapons, go after terrorists, etc. Your comments. - Dave, Fayetteville.

Dear Dave: I think these gentlemen are dead wrong. I read the same article and it almost sounded as if they were defending the terrorists instead of their own government. I can tell you straight out that if a bunch of terrorists hole up in my church with automatic weapons, mortars and rocket launchers I am going to not only call the cops, but I will hand them the keys and draw them a diagram of the place. The "militants" as they are often called in the media are killers pure and simple and they have forfeited the right to take sanctuary in a holy site. The U.S. and Iraqi troops are totally within their rights to clean out nests of terrorists wherever they are found. Fact is, the vast majority of casualties in Iraq have been Iraqis (Muslims). One would hope to see more concern for the lives of these innocents.
