Harris pled guilty to felony charges of possession of cocaine and theft by shoplifting because it was his third offense. He also pled guilty to possession of marijuana (less than one ounce), fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
Harris also addressed the court, saying he has been addicted to cocaine for a number of years. Harris asked Edwards to sentence drug sellers and distributors "to the max" when he gets the opportunity, according to courtroom observers.
