In Georgia Tech's first game of the season, freshman wide receiver Calvin Johnson had two catches for 45 yards. It was a good debut but it wasn't very flashy.
This past Saturday, Johnson, the former Sandy Creek standout, got flashy. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound receiver had 8 catches for 127 yards and three touchdowns, one of which was the game-winner, which came with 11 seconds left in the game.
He is the only freshman in Georgia Tech history to have three or more touchdowns in a game. Johnson was named ACC Rookie of the Week.
