One technique to be used in the sewer replacement is "pipe bursting," a
technique that may cause minor ground vibrations in the immediate work vicinity,
but will not interrupt sewer service. Pipe bursting is accomplished by pulling
a metal bar through the sewer line between manholes. As the metal bar moves,
it breaks up existing sewer line to allow for a longer sewer line to be installed.�
