During the two-and-one-half-hour classes, which are on the same night each
week for 12 weeks, a different county department staff will acquaint participants
with county operations through various methods such as simulated real-world
activities, tours and discussions.
"This program takes government to the people," said Commissioner
Edwards. "It is a catalyst for change while working to bring citizens
closer to government."
The first class of 22 students graduated June 17 in an evening ceremony in
Government Center Assembly Hall.
There is a $40 program fee that covers the costs of a class shirt and course
materials.
The date for the next class will be announced soon.
