The "songs of Taizé"
are published in a number of different languages and lend themselves to
a variety of accompaniment. They are short, repeated again and again,
giving them a meditative character.
"Repeating just a few
words many times allows the mind to embrace the truth of those words,"
Hudak continued. "The simplicity of Taizé's music allows
everyone to take part in a time of prayer together and to remain together
in attentive waiting on God. Most people, even those not accustomed to
meditation or contemplation, experience this kind of music as deeply calming
and comforting."
