Jack Morton, former state Deputy
Revenue Commissioner and former executive director of the Georgia Association
of Tax Officials, was asked by incoming President Ferrell to handle the
swearing in ceremonies.
Also in attendance at the banquet
were several members of Farrell's family, including his wife, Pat;
parents, James and Mary Ferrell; sister, Pam Clemmons and husband Tommy;
brother, Greg Ferrell and wife Diane; daughter, Jenny Dixon; and son,

In addressing those in attendance
after being sworn in, Ferrell stated, "It is a great honor to be
sworn in as president of the County Officers Association. Having my family
here to be a part of the ceremony just made it that more special."
He stated he would continue
the good work of previous presidents over the past several years and strive
to make the association even more useful and beneficial to its members.
Tommy has been Coweta County's
Tax Commissioner since 1979 and served as president of the Georgia Association
of Tax Officials in 1997-1998. He was voted Tax Commissioner of the Year
in 2002. He is also a past president of the Newnan Kiwanis Club.
