Father Dan
Fleming, administrator of St. Mary Magdalene, said the continuing growth
of the young faith community had prompted the necessity of seeking larger
space.
"It's
a good problem to have for a new congregation, Fleming said. "Our
mission numbers keep rising and we are pretty much at overflow for our
Saturday evening Mass at the chapel."
Fleming said
he was grateful to Pastor John Hagan and the people of Cokes Chapel for
sharing their facility.
"The two
congregations have formed a close friendship," Fleming said, "
and will continue to share special worship services together such as Ash
Wednesday."
For several
years, St. Mary Magdalene and Cokes Chapel have joined forces for an ecumenical
Ash Wednesday service and distribution of ashes.
