"Many

people make donations to the Special Olympics; however, they don't realize

that their money is going to the state or national programs and not staying

here in Fayette County. One hundred percent of these proceeds will stay

in Fayette County," said Donna Romeo, Amphitheater Director. "The

total number of athletes participating in the Fayette County Special Olympics

program has grown to 165 his past year. As the local program continues

to grow it continues to need financial support."

The Amphitheater

staff including Jessica Romeo, Joel Dunnington, Julie Rushin and Peggy

Schnitzer have taken the performers' pictures as they have signed each

guitar in an effort to raise money for the Fayette County Special Olympics.

Bill McDonald has graciously offered his services as auctioneer for the

third consecutive year.

The Hall and

Oates concerts are sold out, but occasionally the band or press do not

use all of their tickets and they will go on sale the night of each concert

at 6 p.m. Tickets will be $45 each. For more information about the Fayette

County Special Olympics program or to volunteer, call Anita Godbee at

770-461-9714. Donations may be mailed to Fayette County Special Olympics,

140 W. Stonewall Avenue, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214.
