Overall, the current academic
year has been a record-breaker for Clayton State. Enrollment for the fall
semester topped out at 5,214, only the second time the University had
ever exceeded 5,000 students (the first was the fall semester 1995's 5,020
students) for any semester. However, the fall 2002 enrollment record only
lasted until January 2003, when 5,555 students enrolled at Clayton State
for the just-completed spring semester.
The current semester's total
attendance is some 900 students higher than the typical Clayton State
summer semester over the past decade. For the last 11 years, the average
summer attendance has been 2,500, with 2,750 being the norm for the three
summers prior to 2003.
