This year's
Coweta County Teacher of the Year is Dale Sizemore, who is an art teacher
at Newnan High School. Coweta's 2001 TOTY, Lorraine Johnson, is currently
Georgia's Teacher of the Year and one of four finalists for National Teacher
of the Year. She is one of twelve Georgia semifinalists from Coweta since
1986, including two (Nancy Royal and Jamie Lipscomb) who also went on
to be selected as Georgia Teacher of the Year.
The Coweta
County School System is the only school system in Georgia with three state
teachers of the year.
