Global Achievers

is a program that matches schools and business partners in counties throughout

Georgia with schools and business partners around the world. The project

began as a pilot in Fayette in 1995 and now is in 19 school systems and

more than 70 schools in the state.

Students involved

in the project foster economic and cultural exchanges through forming

import/export businesses with their partner school. They communicate with

each other via telephone and video conferencing, fax and e-mail. All of

the county's high schools are involved in the program.

The trained

teachers will attend a follow-up session in spring 2004 to give feedback

on the new curriculum.
