Any child between
the ages of 5 to 17 that is a descendant of a Confederate soldier, sailor,
or marine, who served honorably during the War Between The States is requested
to contact the General Lafayette McLaws Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
As a part of
its observance of Confederate Memorial Day April 26, the program will
include a flag parade in which children will be carrying the flag that
represents the state their ancestor served. In the event that a state
has more than one entry, a name will be drawn and the winner will have
the honor of carrying the flag. All others will be listed in the program
and will escort the flag.
