The Sandy Creek

Choral Department hosts the pageant and all proceeds benefit the choral

clubs or school affiliated activities. Family, friends, clubs and local

businesses then sponsor the contestants. Judging is based on teacher recommendations,

personal interviews with each judge and the formal gown competition that

evening. Last year's winner was Ashley McKinney.

One of the

highlights of the pageant each year is the tuxedo fashion show in which

members of the Men's Chorus model the latest prom styles. Harris Stone

Cleaners in Fayetteville will provide the tuxedos.

The Sandy Creek

Choral program has reeived many honors under the direction of Millie Turek

including invitations to the Select Chorus to sing at the annual conference

of the Georgia Music Educators Association. The Select Women's Chorus

won all awards in their category at a national choral competition in Washington,

D.C.
