"Our team

looked great breaking into the top 5, and it is only going to get better,"

Head Coach Jamey Myers said. "Many swimmers had lifetime bests and

showed they could compete with not very much rest."

Two swimmers

each raced to first-place finishes in two events, edging out the fastest

swimmers in Georgia. SCAT swimmer Billy Jamerson, 17, a junior at Sandy

Creek High School, won the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. Joseph Redmon,

16, a sophomore at Newnan High School, won the 100- and 200-yard butterfly.

Jamerson also finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and seventh in the

100-yard freestyle. Redmon finished third in the 200-yard individual medley,

fifth in the 100-yard freestyle, and seventh in the 100- and 200-yard

breaststroke and in the 50-yard freestyle.

Lauren Cartwright,

14, an eighth-grader at Rising Starr Middle School, placed fifth in the

100- and 200-yard breaststroke, seventh in the 50-yard freestyle, eighth

in the 200-yard butterfly, and ninth in the 100-yard butterfly and the

200 IM. Kenny Jubb, 18, placed eighth in the 100-yard freestyle. He also

swam personal best times in all six of his events.

Swimmers setting

new team records include: Cartwright in the 50-, 100-, and 200-yard freestyle,

100- and 200-yard breaststroke, 100- and 200-yard butterfly, and the 200

individual medley; Casey DeRidder, 13, in the 50-yard backstroke; Angela

Gellatly, 16, in the 100-yard backstroke; Billy Jamerson in the 100- and

200-yard breaststroke; Joseph Redmon in the 100-yard butterfly; and Brittany

Stevens, 16, in the 100-yard butterfly.

"SCAT

did a great job of providing team spirit and support from both parents

and teammates, and it showed in all the excellent swimming," Myers

said.

The men's relay

team of Redmon, Jamerson, Jubb, and Chris Lee, 16, took second place in

the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays. The relay team of Noah

Copeland, 15, Redmon, Jubb and Jamerson took seventh place overall in

the 800-yard freestyle relay. The women's relay team of Gellatly, Stevens,

Cartwright, and Julia Redmon, 17, took third place in the 200-yard medley

relay and sixth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The women's

400-yard medley relay team of Gellatly, Cartwright, Stevens and Redmon

took eighth overall; the women's 800-yard freestyle relay team of Redmon,

Gellatly, Cartwright, and Nicole Roddenbery, 14, took ninth place; and

the 200-yard freestyle relay team of DeRidder, Roddenbery, MacKenzie Garrot,

14, and Jessica Pratt, 15, took 10th. Katelyn Davis, 15, swam the 100-

and 200-yard butterfly. Lindsey Lochridge, 16, competed in the 100- and

200-yard breaststroke, while Thomas Lucak, 15, swam the 100-yard backstroke.

Casey DeRidder, MacKenzie Garrot, Angela Gellatly, Billy Jamerson, Kenny

Jubb, Chris Lee, Lindsey Lochridge, Thomas Lucak, Jessica Pratt, Joseph

Redmon, Julia Redmon, Nicole Roddenbery and Brittany Stevens. SCAT Senior
