Unlimited chapter reactivates in PTC
The Flint River
Chapter of Trout Unlimited has been reactivated in Peachtree City, Ga.
It was one of the original chapters in Georgia, ad joins the efforts of
other state chapters in supporting Trout Unlimited's mission of conserving,
protecting and restoring North America's trout and salmon fisheries and
their watersheds.
Meetings are
held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at Y Knot Sports
Bar in Peachtree City. All meetings are open to current and prospective
members of Trout Unlimited. Regular, annual membership is $35. Guest speakers
who provide interesting and informative presentations about cold water
conservation, where and how to fly-fish, how to build fly rods and how
to tie flies highlight each meeting.
Newly elected
officers and board members are Skip Barnette, president, Steve Quinn,
vice president, Larry beck, treasurer and Charlie Smith and Joe Bride,
board members.
Chapter activities
in support of Trout Unlimited's mission will include fisheries habitat
improvement, organized group fishing trips, youth fly-fishing clinics,
learn how to events, the Boy Scouts of America fly fishing Merit Badge
program and other events designed to enhance efforts to further the mission
of Trout Unlimited.
"We know
there are a number of people in this area interested in supporting our
mission, as well as getting to know other people who share a common interest
in cold water conservation and fly fishing," said Flint River Chapter
President Skip Barnette.
