The Villages

at LaFayette Park is an approximately 110-acre development three blocks

west of the Old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville and bordered by Ga.

Highway 54 on the south and the Fayette County High School complex on

the north. The developer, The Eagle Group, has described the concept as

similar to Celebration in Florida.

In addition

to the residential units, the community will also contain several parks,

a junior olympic pool, playground, and commercial and office space. Also

on the property is The Villages Amphitheater, which opened in September.

The amphitheater, a multiuse venue representing all aspects of the cultural

arts and educational community, is located on a three-acre tract at the

intersection of LaFayette Avenue and Tiger Trail and will share the parking

lot at Fayette County High School.

Prior to the

opening events at the amphitheater, representatives of the city of Fayetteville,

Main Street Fayetteville, and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce toured

the three newly-opened model homes.
