"We were
looking for something that really struck us rather than just a list of
accomplishments. We wanted to hear about how a teacher had really made
a difference in the classroom," he explained.
All winners
were invited to an Atlanta Braves game over the summer where they were
honored during an on-field presentation. Each winner received a plaque
commemorating the award and will have an opportunity to submit an application
for the BellSouth Educator of the Year award where the winner will receive
a $2,500 grant for his or her school.
