The ARC report also provided

the counties' growth rate as a percentage of population. By that measure,

Fayette County ranks number five (out of 10 and tied with Douglas County).

Additionally, Fayette's projected 2001-2002 growth rate is 3.00 percent,

just above the Atlanta metro average of 2.92 percent.

Interestingly, Henry County

leads the pack with a 7.40 percent projected growth rate versus Gwinnett's

distant third with 4.00 percent.
