Sam Tompkins,

owner of Wood and Tompkins Cores, Inc., started the festival in 1990 as

a way to highlight "Another Way Out," a mentoring program for

youth. Among board members are Fulton County Commissioner William "Bill"

Edwards, who represents the area, and Atlanta City Council members C.T.

Martin and Jim Maddox.

What began

as a small company picnic has grown tremendously, attracting sponsors

such as General Motors, Advance Auto Parts, and Fulton County Government.

about the festival, call 404-349-4712.
