festivities in Washington, D.C., the SCORE Chapter of the Year will be

recognized, along with many of the nation's most successful entrepreneurs

and small business leaders.

SCORE is committed

to advancing small business, envigorating the American economy, and helping

the newly unemployed who are turning to self-employment and entrepreneurship.

Since 1964,

SCORE has provided free and confidential business advice to nearly 4.5

million small businesses through its network of more than 11,500 volunteer

retired and active businesss owners, managers, and executives.

SCORE's working

and retired volunteers donate their expertise to help entrepreneurs prepare

business plans, develop business strategies, and gather valuable information

about doing business in local jurisdictions.
