Spring is in
the air. The weather is warmer, the sun seems brighter and gardens are
in full bloom.
Green thumbs,
garden aficionados and those who enjoy strolling through beautiful scenes
of nature can rejoice because the 2002 Spring Garden Tour, a benefit for
Peachtree City Elementary School, returns this Saturday.
The tour travels
through some of Peachtree City's finest gardens, showcasing a wide variety
of flowers, trees and plants as well as some impressive landscaping. Neighborhoods
featured on the tour include Smokerise, Kimmeridge, The Highlands, and
Santolina Park among others.
Each of the
gardens on the tour has its own theme or themes. Some reflect a particular
area like Charleston, Savannah or New England, while others aim more for
aesthetic pleasure and include splashes of colors or geometric designs.
The tour starts
at St. Andrews Square gardens with a tea tasting provided by Teavana.
Advance tickets for the tour are $10 and can be purchased at Peachtree
City Elementary School or Beard and Co. at The Avenue. Tickets the day
of the event are $12 and must be purchased at the St. Andrews Square Gardens.
The 2002 Spring
Garden Tour will last from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday. The rain date is Sunday
from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Phone 770-631-3250 for more information or visit www.oemsuppliers.com/gardentour .
