Students who
earned gr ade point averages
of 93 or above during the spring semester were treated to a catered luncheon
at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, next to the school. Those who earned
between 90 and 93 enjoyed an ice cream social at the high school, and
all students who earned grade point averages of 85 or above received "goody
bags" filled with candy, coupons from local vendors and other treats.
The Academic
Booster luncheons each fall and spring are designed to recognize the academic
achievements of McIntosh students. Luncheon entrees are donated by local
businesses, and parents supply a variety of desserts. Businesses that
provided food for the fall luncheon and ice cream social include Arby's,
Chick-fil-A, CiCi's Pizza, Fuddruckers, Harry's in a Hurry, Kroger, Partners
II Pizza, Pizza Hut, Publix, Schlotzsky's Deli, Subway, Taco Bell and
Wendy's.
The Academic
Booster Club also awards academic letters to students who maintain grade
point averages of 90 or above, offers financial support to academic clubs
at the school, and hosts two staff appreciation luncheons each year.
