Motorists are
being cautioned by police not to block the intersection of Ga. Highways
54 and 74, particularly during rush hour.
Police said
such actions create a hazardous situation for other motorists, and it
is illegal to block an intersection. Police have said this law "will
be strictly enforced."
The blockages
typically occur when a motorist is turning onto another throughfare and
misjudges the backup of traffic currently on that road. At times, the
traffic backup can prevent several lanes of traffic from flowing when
they have a green signal.
