To the man who stopped me in
the grocery store parking lot to tell me how much he enjoyed my web site,
thank you for that cheery nugget that picked me up when I needed it. To
my family and friends, my campaign committee, and the girls on my soccer
team, thank you for believing in me and finding time in your already filled-to-the-brim
schedules to be the wind beneath my wings.
And to the modern day Good
Samaritan who stopped on what had to be the coldest morning of the year
while I was standing out on Ga. Highway 74 waving to the morning commuters
and surprised me with a cup of steaming hot coffee, thank you for warming
not only my hands but my spirit as well.
My desire to serve has not
lessened. In fact, quite the contrary, it has been enhanced. To the 1,292
people who voted for me, thank you, thank you, thank you. I will never
forget your confidence in me. And to the rest of you, get ready: you'll
have another chance one day soon! I have recently started my own business
providing insurance and benefits for individuals and small businesses,
and even though it will take up a lot of my time and energy, I'll keep
a watchful eye on the issues that affect us and help where I can. I intend
to remain active. I've always believed it better to wear out than to rust
out!
Obviously, I had hoped for
a different ending to this, but I wish both Murray [Weed] and Carol [Fritz]
well. I enjoyed every minute of the campaign (well, just about every minute!)
and have learned many things I'll carry with me forever. I was constantly
overwhelmed by the friendliness and kindness of the people with whom I
came in contact. There was not one single day of the campaign that I was
not reminded of the fact that I live in the best spot on earth Peachtree
City.
