"For over

40 years, these two African-Americans have made an impact in traditional

quartet gospel and opened doors for other African-American gospel acts,"

a spokesperson said.

A "Praise

in the Park Celebration" beginning at 10 a.m. in Griffin City Park

will feature free food, gospel entertainment, gospel rappers, and praise

dancers and singers.

The celebration

in the auditorium beginning at 7 will feature Grammy nominee Lee Williams

and The Spiritual QCs from Tupelo, Miss.; Bishop Dreyfus Smith and the

Wings of Faith Mass Choir from Atlanta; Gospel Stairways from Griffin;

The True believers from Jackson, Miss.; Deliverance from Newnan; and the

Rev. Charles McCain, formerly of the gospel Keynotes.
