The driver
of the truck, Janice Haynie Strickland, 61, of Fayetteville, was transported
to Southern Regional Medical Center with multiple injuries, Hannah said.
She was in stable condition Tuesday morning, according to a hospital spokesman.
Both drivers
were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, Hannah said.
Blood and alcohol
tests will be performed on both drivers to determine if either was intoxicated
when the wreck occurred, which is a standard procedure for fatal automobile
accidents, Hannah added.
This wreck
represents the third traffic fatality in unincorporated Fayette County
this yea r.
