The restaurant
seats 150 people and features quality food and live entertainment in a
family atmosphere. There will be live music Wednesday through Sunday nights,
including a Mariachi band on Saturday. The restaurant holds a liquor license
and will have a full bar except on Sundays. La Parrilla, which means grill
in Spanish, also has three locations in Marietta and one in Hall County.
A sixth restaurant is planned to open in Alpharetta in late 2001.
Business partners,
Martin Velasquez and Jairo Troncoso, opened their first La Parrilla Mexican
Restaurant in 1994. They were both born in Colombia, South America, and
met while working at Primex Plastics.
"We both
realized a dream when we opened our first La Parrilla," said Velasquez.
"Until now, all our restaurants have been on the north side of Atlanta.
With the help of EpiCity and its ability to work with unique investment
properties and situations, we were pleased to find such a perfect location
in Fayette."
The property
was constructed two years ago for Tanner's Chicken Rotisserie.
After Tanner's
left, there were many national companies that showed interest in the property,
according to Julie Tulodieski, director for administration and commercial
property manager of EpiCity.
"We are
very pleased to lease the building to a locally owned business,"
said Tulodieski. "We visited La Parrilla's other locations and were
truly impressed with their hands-on management, the attention to detail
shown by the staff, and the clean, wholesome atmosphere."
EpiCity, established
in 1935, is based in Atlanta, GA, at 2215 Perimeter Park Drive, Suite
1. For more information, call EpiCity at 770-457-2300, or visit the website
