Bell Construction Company recently
was awarded the contract to build the jail and courthouse for $31.2 million.
Renovation of the existing jail and conversion of the courthouse into
a set of offices for the Sheriff's Department will be bid later.
The project is being financed
using a $55 million bond approved by Fayette voters last fall.
