PTC ready to celebrate Tree City USA honor

To qualify

for the Tree City USA designation, the city had to spend at least $2 per

resident on trees. The city council authorized an extra $10,000 on top

of that figure to enhance the program for the past two years, Tyler added.

Another requirement

was to form a tree board to oversee the spending of the funds and adopt

a tree ordinance, Tyler said.
