I think this is an important

point to remember regarding Sen. Hecht because in my view the state flag

did not need to be changed and I both wrote and called Sen. Hecht's staff

to express my views on this matter.

For Gov. Roy Barnes and the

legislature to have railroaded the citizens of Georgia the way they did

and representatives who voted to change the flag were wrong also.

the people of Georgia, many of who were and remain opposed to any change

in the Georgia state flag.

So I just wanted to remind

the readers of The Citizen and other local papers that no matter what

else Sen. Greg Hecht does this legislative session his vote to change

the state flag of Georgia was, in my view, again, a betrayal of the faith

and confidence the good people of his district placed in him.

I hope that people remember

who voted to change the state and also who didn't and also remember Greg

Hecht's sellout of their interests.
