Fayette's election workers
were swamped with 42,766 of 51,775 registered voters casting their ballots.
Election superintendent Carolyn
Combs said she's proud of her workers. "It was a lot. Our managers
and precinct workers all did very well," she said.
It took workers until 1:30
a.m. to count all the votes, she said, adding that there were no problems
like those experienced in other states. "It went very smoothly,"
she said.
