A key improvement
of these CDs over the previous versions, known as EDIS, is that the CDs
are published with an easy-to-use -viewing software, ArcExplore, said
a spokesman. The operation of ARIS and ArcExplorer can be learned in about
an hour and there is no need to purchase expensive GIS software to view,
query and create custom maps.
ARIS is ideal
for local governments, public agencies and businesses that do not have
the time, staff or budget to set up a traditional GIS operation, the spokesman
said.
