I fully support the police
department conducting investigations into allegations of
alcohol sales to those under 21 if complaints have been
lodged against a particular place of business.
Investigating is what the police are supposed to do. I do
not believe it is right for a department to generate
criminal acts as a result of its own actions to dupe
someone into violating a city ordinance. This type of
operation is borderline entrapment.
The question still remains,
would most reasonable persons believe this person was
over 21?
I also find it curious that
this operation did not become public knowledge until after
the city elections! Hmmm!
