The 1999

retreat established the work plan for the Chamber's 22

standing committees. The board also discussed its

priorities for the coming year.

"There

were four primary areas that the board wants to emphasize

in 2000," said Darrell Cutts, Fayette County

hospital administrator and vice-chair of the Chamber

board. "These areas are member services, public

relations, member recruitment/retention and governmental

affairs."

Some of the

goals the Chamber hopes to attain this year are:

-Become

accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

-Evaluate

public relations needs and identify solutions either

internal or through contact.

-Reach

1000 members by the end of 2000.

-Take

a public stance on local issues affecting the Chamber and

Fayette County business.
