Fayette Community
Hospital is celebrating its two-year anniversary this,
and officials from the hospital are quite pleased with
the response of the community to the facility.
"We've
had an amazing two years and we look forward to providing
superior healthcare and health-related services to the
community for many years to come," said hospital CEO
Darrell Cutts.
When it
opened its doors in 1997, it became the first new
hospital in the metro area in 14 years. In order to meet
the healthcare needs of the community, the hospital
continues to expand its services.
This
summer, the Diagnostics Department extended its hours to
accommodate patients needing to schedule appointments
outside normal working hours. The department also added
new services including angiograms, arteriograms and
diagnostics-directed biopsies.
This fall,
he department is adding a bone density scanner and a
mobile MRI unit. Other areas of expansion at the hospital
include the addition of two new operating rooms to
support more than 430 surgeries each month.
Employees
celebrated the two-year anniversary with a fun-filled day
of food, games and fellowship. I addition to the many
activities like face-painting and volleyball, employees
also had the opportunity to win door prizes, dance to the
sounds of the band Identity Crisis and even attempt to
soak the hospital CEO in the dunk tank.
