I would be interested to

know how many lemonade sales, car washes, bake sales, and

other fund-raising activities that this "concerned

parent" has participated in.

I do guarantee you that

this person will be first in line to claim their child's

new cleats, uniforms, and other amenities that are bought

with this money. I agree with [Robert] McCloud from Sandy

Creek [Booster Club]. These "concerned parents"

should step up and promote other types of fund-raising

activities, but then I'm sure something would be found

wrong with those, too. It is a sad fact in our society

that everyone wants everything for nothing!

Finally, I take offense at

this newspaper's inference that Fayette County High

School uses other means of fund-raising. As one of the

"evil" people that sells beer at Lakewood, I

can attest to the fact that Fayette County band has one

of the largest stands in the amphitheater. You really

should check your facts.

However, if this

fund-raising had helped get these kids to the Sydney

Olympics, for a once in a lifetime opportunity, I would

have helped by selling beer for them.
