Crowds
gathered and several joined the Cubans fighting the
police. The police were properly carrying out their sworn
duty.
The
pictures of many in the riot physically interfering with
police efforts sends a terrible message to law
enforcement officers everywhere.
It may be
that some seeking asylum have proper grounds, but this
conduct is not the way to be admitted. Every country has
the right, even duty, to screen applicants, keeping out
those with criminal records and contagious diseases.
Unfortunately,
many gave support to the mob rule conduct. Nothing will
lead us quicker to anarchy.
