Fulton County had the state's highest portion
of six-figure households, followed by Fayette and
Cobb counties. Liberty County had the lowest portion,
the survey said.
More than 5 percent of the state's household
have six-figure incomes, up from 3.6 percent in
1990. Nationally, the figure is 6 percent, up from
4.4 percent at the beginning of the decade.
The top five counties in the state with most households with incomes over $100,000 are:
Fulton- 11.2 percent
Fayette- 9 percent
Cobb- 8.8 percent.
DeKalb- 6.5 percent
Columbia- 6.5 percent.
"The six-figure income category is
Georgia's fastest growing. It's clear that the state's
economic growth has pushed many households into
six-figure territory, and that some high-income
households have moved in from other parts of the country,"
said Acxiom's Donald Hinman.
