Regional action this weekend

This weekend the regional basketball tournaments continue.

In 4-AAAA action, the girls play at Fayette County High

School, while the boys continue at Newnan. The semi final

round begins at 6 p.m. on Friday and the final round begins at 6 p.m.

on Saturday.

Interest in the 4-AAA tournaments has most likely

dwindled now that both Starr's Mill and Sandy Creek have been

eliminated. The Starr's Mill boys and the Sandy Creek Lady

Patriots advanced to the second round but eventually lost. Forest

Park handed the Panthers a 67-55 loss on Wednesday evening,

while Sandy Creek lost to Woodward Academy 59-25. The

tournament action continues Friday and Saturday night, with North

Clayton as the favorite to win.
