0Mr. Robert Eugene Pitner, Sr. of Fayetteville, formerly of Forest Park, passed away on Jan. 15, 2012 at the age of 81. He was the only son of James Ray and Lillie Mae Pitner of Acworth, Ga. Mr. Pitner was a loving husband, father, grandfather of nine, and great grandfather of eight.
He worked for Southern Bell and retired after 32 years of service. He was a faithful member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, and an active member of Moose Lodge 1498 and the Elks Lodge.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elaine Pitner; daughters Sharon Snellings and her husband David of Newnan, Nancy Waters and her husband Steve of Smyrna, Susan DeBel and her husband Morrie of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons Skip Pitner and his wife Rita of Stockbridge, Greg Pitner of Clayton County.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Westmoreland will officiate. Interment will follow in Camp Memorial Park. The family received friends on Tuesday at the funeral home.
