Ten thousand boxes of cookies donated to the military is the goal of Fayetteville Girl Scout Cadette Troop 19276 and Jan. 20 is the date you can help them reach their goal. They will be collecting donations from 5-7 p.m. at the American Legion Log Cabin, on the corner of Ga. Hwy. 85 and Johnson Ave. in Fayetteville.

“It’s a huge goal,” said leader Tammy Privette. “We can send that many boxes to the military with the communities help,” added co-leader Robyn Donaldson. The girls have been together for over six years and besides this service project have participated in many others in our community. Fellow co-leader Kelly Gandy assisted the girls in setting up a Jan.17-20 collection at Bennett’s Mill Middle School.

For more information contact them at [email protected]. To make a donation please send checks written out to Girl Scout Troop 19276 to: Girl Scout Troop 19276, PO Box 1831, Fayetteville, Ga. 30214.
