Two Connecticut residents reportedly here to visit relatives had that visit interrupted when they were stopped and arrested by Fayette County deputies for driving a stolen vehicle.
Shalisha Mosley, 28, and Davonte A. Barlowe, 29, both of Norwich, Connecticut, were charged with theft by receiving, theft by stolen vehicle into another state and obstruction, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.
Babb said the 2019 Subaru Outback driven by Mosley was stopped on Ga. Highway 85 North after a check of the tag indicated it was stolen in Connecticut.
Mosley and Barlowe told deputies they were in the area to visit relatives.
In another incident, a burglary occurred on Sept. 2 at Paw Paw’s Shell store on Ga. Highway 92 North.
Deputies at 11:43 p.m. responded to an alarm call, Babb said, and met with the owner who noted that money was missing from the cash register.
Babb said pry marks were found on the door frame of a side door, adding that the portions of the store had been rummaged.
